Transport Planner – Full-time

Welcome to TVB! We specialise in temperature-controlled transport and carry goods at temperatures ranging from -20 to +20 degrees. Our main focus is on the domestic transport of fruit and vegetables. In addition, we are continuing to expand our range of services to include, amongst other things, groupage, container transport and courier services.

We are a down-to-earth transport company with short lines of communication and a team that is used to adapting quickly. At the same time, we are constantly evolving. What are you going to do?

As a Transport Planner, you are one of the key links in our day-to-day operations. Together with your colleagues, you ensure that our drivers and lorries are deployed as smartly and efficiently as possible and that our customers receive exactly what we have agreed with them.

You draw up and monitor the daily transport schedule, but you also know that in the transport industry, a schedule is never set in stone. An extra job, a delay en route or a change requested by a customer? You keep a cool head, react quickly and focus on what *is* possible.

In doing so, you look beyond simply meeting the schedule. Our aim is to transport as much as possible with as few unnecessary journeys as possible. You are therefore constantly thinking about smart combinations, optimal loading and efficient routes.

Your duties will include, amongst other things:

• Drawing up, monitoring and continuously optimising the daily transport schedule at Talis;
• Deploying drivers, lorries and available capacity as efficiently as possible;
• Co-ordinating and monitoring ongoing shipments;
• Liaising with drivers regarding journeys, changes and any special circumstances;
• Coordinate with Support regarding client assignments and changes;
• Identifying delays, bottlenecks and other issues, and taking immediate action in response;
• Seek out smart combinations and supplementary loads where necessary;
• Ensuring that we fulfil our commitments to our customers;
• Working with colleagues to constantly look for ways to organise our planning and transport operations more intelligently and efficiently.

Who are we looking for?

Above all, we’re looking for someone who enjoys solving puzzles and taking on responsibility. You don’t need to panic when the schedule changes three times in the course of a day; in fact, that might be where the challenge really begins for you.

In addition:

• Do you have an MBO level of working and thinking;
• Do you preferably have experience in transport, logistics or planning?;
• Do you have an interest in transport and logistics;
• Are you good at organising, setting priorities and keeping track of things;
• Are you solution-oriented and able to adapt quickly to unexpected situations;
• Do you find it easy to communicate with drivers, customers and colleagues;
• Do you have a good command of Dutch and English;
• Are you a team player, but do you also have the confidence to make decisions on your own?.

Experience in the transport sector or the fruit and vegetable trade is, of course, a bonus. But even if you don’t have all the relevant experience yet and you think planning is right up your street, we’d still love to hear from you.
